FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What Does Calibration Number Mean?
During the firing process, tiles shrink by approximately 7% in order to have high resistance. This shrinkage depends upon size: smaller sizes shrink less, bigger sizes shrink more.
Floor tiles and porcelain floor tiles are measured and separated according to their size by using automatic measurement machines during quality separation process. These size grades are called calibration. Tiles are separated into 2 or more 3 different calibrations.
Before tiling, calibration numbers of tiles should be checked and it should be ensured that the calibration numbers of all boxes are same. If different, they should be separated and used in other areas. Otherwise, sliding will occur in grouting gaps.
